Ladybug, I am SOOOOO with you. Without a doubt, Shawshank Redemption is my all time favorite film. Here's a list of films I watch over and over...

1 Shawshank Redemption. (This film is, from start to finish, absolutely FLAWLESS).

2. The Green Mile (also written by Shawshank author, Stephen King and directed Shawshank director, Frank Darabont).

3. The Silence of the Lambs. (Anthony Hopkin's Lechter is simply the BEST).

4. Serial Mom. (Based on a true story, director John Waters reaches new highs in biting social satire -- a MUST see flick).

5. Guarding Tess. (The love/hate chemistry between two great actors like Shirley MacLaine and Nicholas Cage is a neverending treat).

6. Undercover Blues. (Okay, okay, we all have our guilty pleasures. Plot-wise, this film is idiotic beyond comprehension. I'm sorry, but the thing cracks me up everytime I watch it. Stanley Tucci makes his film debut in this movie and his character, "Muerte" is a laugh riot. So sue me, I love this flick).

7.Charlie Varrick. (This film is a real gem. extremely difficult to find 1970s masterpiece from from Dirty Harry director Don Seigel. It's brilliantly written and acted by a top-notch cast. This film did no business at theaters when it came out because it had no "names," but in video, it found a home. Love it).

8. The Right Stuff. (This is without a doubt one of the best and most under-rated films of all time. Based on Tom Wolfe's best seller of the same name, it features a killer cast and a remarkable true story. I'll be watching this film when I'm in my 90s).

9. The Quiet Man. (John Ford, John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. WOW! This richly textured story about an American who comes to live in Ireland is one of the most beautifully photographed, beautifully acted, and beautifully told tales ever put on film. I watch it at least once a month).

10. The Outlaw Josie Wales. (Some may disagree, but I think this is the greatest Western of all times. Clint Eastwood and Chief Dan George are outstanding. And the confrontation scene between Josie Wales and the indian chief "Ten Bears" at the climax of this film is one of the most powerful scenes ever put on film. And man-oh-man, does that scene tell the truth. Super powerful. Check it out).

The hard way with James Woods and Michael J. Fox (1991).
I've seen it three times in the cinema and I've lost track of how many times I've seen it at home.
I JUST LOVE IT.
