in the final rinse unless you have a downey ball, then you put it in at the beginning and the ball opens at the proper time somehow, supposedly anyway. and im a blonde too. also some of the newer washers have a compartment to put the fabric softener in at the start of the wash and it will release it at the proper time, the washers you use at the laundramatt have had that for years.

Your soap drawer should have at least 2 or 3 compartments, soap powder in the second one and fabric conditioner in the third, the first is for pre wash. Add them at start of wash the machine will do the rest.

If you put it in the beginning it will rinse out with the detergent during the first rinse cycle. I've always added it in the final rinse.

It should go in the beginning of the rinse cycle. You can purchase a fabric softner dispenser from WalMart and then you can put it in in the beginning or you could just use dryer sheets, that is easier yet.

well..... I think that it should definately go in at the final rinse as this then makes the clothes a lot more softer than if you put it in at the beginning. Der and u say I'm the bottle. lol

Either at the beginning like the manufacturers say, or like me, I put it in on the final rinse, it's much better.

go buy a "Downy ball" and forget about it. Other wise, I put my in at the beginning of the cycle, i like my clothes very soft. the machines at the laundry mat ( double and triple loaders) release at the final rinse. its how you prefer your clothes to feel. (P.S. there is no such thing as a stupid question) if you don't know it's not stupid
