My friend delivers pizza, and some people are SO cheap! He is curious about how many people tip.

Thank you for all of the answers. For the people who don't tip because they say the employer pays them....I just wanted to clarify that it's not true. At his job he only gets $1.50 per delivery, and have you seen gas prices these days!
He says to tell everyone, "Thanks for tipping your pizza man!" LOL

You should always tip because a service is being provided for you. You are getting your food delivered to your house and the driver has to pay for gas and wear and tear on the car.
These guys are trying to make ends meet just like anyone else.
Yes,some people are cheap or just ignorant.

I didn't tip the pizza delivery guys. But, like you I asked others. And to find out I was suppose to be tipping all the time. When the delivery guys find out you tip they usually are faster delivering and make sure your pizza is just right on delivery. They anticipate you will tip them. Some people are just not aware that they are suppose to tip. Since then I have been tipping everywhere that has a jar including Zero's.

Yes I tip the pizza delivery man. I usually give $3-$5. Depending on him. If he is nice and smiles and says hello and is on time with my pizza I will give him a tip. However if he arrives late my pizza is cold and he has a bad attitude he gets nothing. So tell your friend to have a smile on his face and a good attitude then maybe he will get more tips.

most people tip the pizza guy . the tip usually gets spread around the pizza restaurant. the driver usually has to split it with the cook that made the food and 2 just because you didn't sit inside the restaurant someone still had to take your order and get it prepared to your specifications..
and to be honest people will hate you cheep out on the pizza guy and the people with you will see that your a cheap a$$ and the guys that deliver you food will mock you and be tempted to taint your food ....seriously think about the fact these people are bring food into your home , put yourself if there place ......see that's why you tip the pizza guy

It all depends...is the pizza hot and drinks cold or the other way around? Did the pizza arrive within a reasonable time...or did you have to wait over 30 minutes? I usually give a tip if I get good service..

Yes. If I have just a large pizza and some cheese sticks I tip about 2.00 but If my sister is over with her kids and with my kids we need to order 3-4 pizzas so we tip atleast $5.

my brother delivers pizza too. yes i most certainly do tip the pizza delivery person no matter who they are (not just my brother). some people are horrible tippers if they even do at all. the delivery person remembers them just as much as they remember the good tippers.
one guy just last night said to my brother "here's a tip for you: get a real job". how rude. if that happened to me i would certainly add some *bonus toppings* to that guy's pizza next time.

I tip $2 a box unless the pizza is over an hour late.

I tip the delivery people (pizza, chinese, whatever) the same as I do the server in a restaraunt... they both bring me my food, so the principal is the same in my eyes.
Oh, and I usually tip 15-20% unless it was horrible service.

we have our pizza delivered from 20 mins away.....and tip the delivery man 3-5 aussie dollars
