SORRY IT WAS NOT WEST BROM IT WAS WOLVES Alun Evans d.o.b.30/4/1949 in Bewdley Worcestershire,Joined Wolves in 1967 played 20 games scored 4 goals. Joined Liverpool in 1968 costing them 110,000 pounds making him the most expensive teenager he was 18, his capture was viewed as a major coup by Bill shankly, and he added to the excitement by making a explosive start he made his debut on21st September 1968 against Leicester City beating them 4 - 0, the next match? was against Wolves which Liverpool won 6 - 0, sadly his massive potential was never fulfilled. A catalouge of Injuries halted his progress and his confidence suffered following a much publicised nightclub Incident when he was attacked with abroken bottle which left him with facial scarring. But he bounced back spectaculary to score a famous hat-trick that sunk Bayern Munich in a 3 - 1 victory at Anfield, and also opening the scoring in the 1971 F.A.Cup semi final against Everton at Old Trafford. By the following season though a young Kevin Keegan came on the scene and was playing well at the club he was allowed to leave Liverpool in 1971( during his time at Liverpool he played 77 games & scored 21 goals)for 70,000 to Aston Villa where he stayed until 1974 (he played 53 games & scored 11 goals) he then joined Walsall in 1975 ( he played 9 games & scored 7 goals)he left in 1977. After that all I know he went to America (dont know what club) then he went to Australia and joined (south melborne fc) he ended his career there. After retiring he was a fish market delivery driver & a painter & decorator. Alun is also a useful Cricketer & is presently in the over 50s squad as a wicket keeper/batsman. Thats all I could find out sorry
