According to my 7 year old son , rhetorical questions are asked but the person does not expect or want an answer. When he doesn't answer a question I ask he says " Sorry , I thought it was a rhetorical question." Example: How many times do I have to ask you to put your shoes in the closet?

U certainly need no answer if ur answer is hidden within ur question.
ex:- what is the difference between a cycle and a bicycle?R both of these similar???Certain questions have no answer : What created the universe?What is the cure for Cancer and aids?Certain questions tickle u for answers and do have one : R u a freaking pervert ,lying thousand times a day?What's ur father's name?So whether u answer or not depends on the question?

Questions and answer always goes together. The only time question needs no answer is when there isn't any answer to it.

yes.the question would not have a reason without an answer.but there are questions that don't have any answer or that are never answered because the questioned person doesn't know the answer or because the questioner has already an answer
