back on the road today will i do any damage to anything on the bike thanks for the help

if it's the wrong rating it will either blow again (too low) or fail to protect your bike (too high). Likewise if it's the wrong choice of quick/slow blow. If it blew because of a fault, you need to fix the fault first (but you'll find that out soon enough - the new fuse will also blow)

Otherwise, if it fits, it's fine.

if they are both rated at 30 amps then yeah, a fuse is a fuse mate, but why did the bike blow the fuse ? thats what you need to determine.
