I read somewhere there was a story about a deathrow inmates that turn docile because he lost his vision and sit in a corner all day. It's not like a torture with this suggestion because they do lock up bad prisoners into dark room or isolation to punish them all the time. It's usually scare the heck out of them or calm them down afterward.

I find your suggestion intriguing. No harm in doing so to people with bad history.

Where did you get your information? Inmates have rights. So they do have light to see with, and they aren't in isolation all the time in the dark receiving constant punishment. If anything these inmates with surgically diminished vision would turn more violent as their loss of vision makes them to feel if not become outright more prone to being preyed upon. The inmates I have dealt with that were visually impaired didn't want to be bothered, felt more preyed upon, and reacted quicker than most in defense.

I have never heard of that but I have read that it's possible to reduce the recidivism rate in sex offenders (of all types) with chemical castration. Apparently, it controls the hormones that cause that type of behavior.
