Northern Ireland is "free". It is part of the UK, which is a democratic country with fair and free elections.

If by "free" you mean should it become part of the Irish Republic despite the majority of the population saying "NO" then how would that be fair, democratic or making them "free" ???

It's a bit like saying that Texas was once part of Mexico, so lets make Texas "free" by handing it back to Mexico, despite the fact that the majority of Texans wants to remain part of the USA.

Yes a complete idiot. It is free!!!!!

The IRA and it's splinter groups have been trying to take it over by force for years. The British government have said exactly the same for Northern Ireland as they have said for Gibraltar. The people of the country have the right to decide their own future. In the case of both Northern Ireland and Gibraltar the populace has voted overwhelmingly to remain as they are.
