First you draw two mutually perpendicular axes.
Then along one axis you show the bars of the required length for the chosen item on the other axis. You should also select a suitable scale for drawing; like 1cm=some number or data value

1. Draw an X axis, a horizontal line and mark out equal distance units on it, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ..

2. Draw a Y axis, a vertical line beginning at the left edge of the X axis (looking like a letter L). Put some equal spacing units on it that are suitable for your bar graph.

3. Say you need to draw a bar chart of the results of your subjects. Let your results be on the Y axis and the subjects be on the X axis.

1 Pencil
1 Pen
1 Eraser in case you make any mistake
1 Ruler
and many papers.

I foresee you crashing your papers due to frastration!
