Ok, why is it that we don't consider a modern - time player to be better than the earlier ones.Maradona is not considered better than Pele because he was born later. Zidane is not considered better than Cruyff coz he again is younger. So, why is it that we give too much respect to earlier born players when some one who came by later on is yet better. I think Pele is better than Maradona., but Zidane is better than Cruyff, yet Cruyff is considered the best European player ever.

As yeras pass since a player has retired, he is only remembered for his good times in football, which give him an aura of having played brilliant football always, whereas players lke zidane, they r in the present we c their best game and not so best performances too which give them a human quality. Players of today have to fight with the only the good qualities of tht player.
As ppl don't remember cyuff average performances and average seasons, they only remember his good performance whereas ppl know everything abt zidane's game(good and bad)

Older players scored more goals at their time as ther was no offsides (the single match ended with 5 goals at least)

You know that's not always true alot of people think Ronaldo (Brazil) is better than Rivaldo, RIbery is better than Henry, some even think Ronaldinho is better than Ronaldo, or Robinho is better than Ronaldinho, and look at even Lionel Messi he could outplay tons of players twice his age.
