Yes, I have. When I was 21 I met a guy through a friend's boyfriend, we'll call him Kevin. Kevin was very sweet, tenderhearted, thoughtful, funny, and adventurous. Unfortunately he was born with some problems which left him unhandsome (think Goonies), unintelligent, and a bit of a dweeb. Like I said he was very nice but wasn't able to hold a good conversation for very long. I was spending time with my friend and her guy who happened to be Kevin's best friend at the time. He developed a huge crush and me and started pursuing me. I just did not have the heart to tell him I wasn't interested. I knew he had never had a girl before and he was trying to hard to get me to like him. I gave in thinking I could help "suave" him up, teach him about girls, help him with his clothes, and generally make him a chick magnet then send him off to look for a real love.
IT BACKFIRED, while helping him out he fell in love. His father died, his sister had a baby, his mother was diagnosed with an illness all while we were seeing each other. When he looked at me with big green eyes and told me he loved me I couldn't help but say I loved him too. I thought him being young things would work themselves out. In the end I broke his heart, which I will forever regret.
Moral of the story; don't date someone because you don't want to hurt them by saying no. You only end up hurting them worse in the end.

I've been in two relationships where the girl totally felt a connection, but I felt I couldn't get any support from them when I was having hard times so I broke their hearts. They hate me to this day

17 Years? I'm sorry to hear that. Yes I have; though, I've never expirenced a relationship of that long. But it's bound to happen. It's one of the dangers of being in a relationship but you get over it eventually.

Nope. But I have had my heart shattered into millions of bits:)
I have only been on the other side of the fence...and considering what I went through, I would never like to break anyone's heart.

Yep. I don't really feel bad about it, he was extremely dependent, but he was also too dominating. I felt that it was cramping my style so I rudely ended it. He left a voice mail in a voice that sounded like he was going to cry and I almost busted out laughing in the fast food place I was in.

there was a girl who was very in love with me, and I sort of lead her on but I did hurt her when I broke up with her. I have apologized many times and made up my mind never to do that again.

Yes, sadly. I never wished to do so, but there was no other way. We were not supposed to be together forever and I'm glad he found his soul mate and has a wonderful family, now.:)
