I was on the CB when Uncle Charlie issued licenses. We belonged to two CB clubs,I was even club reporter for the local newspaper. On a clear night I always talked to NC from Mo which is pretty good because I'm barefoot. On Yahoo the world is our oyster. Here we have letters like LOL on the CB we use 10-4,10-20 etc.My CB is still in my jeep I use it as much as my cell phone. We have met some really good people and we're all still friends but I haven't met anyone from the Internet as of yet. They are both good ways to communicate and that is a need we all seem to have.Sometimes on Yahoo I am almost shocked by some of the questions but on the CB you will get the idiot who thinks every sentence has to have the F word in it. But my CB and my PC both have an off button and I know how to use it. I enjoy both, most of the time it is fun here at Yahoo. The only draw back is I can talk faster than I can type.

CB radio used to be used mainly by road users to warn each other of hazard/police activity/whatever ahead. It gave an IMMEDIATE message to everybody who was listening and could therefore help genuine travellers. Unfortunately, abuse contributed to its downfall and replacement by the mobile phone. Unless drivers are going to have PCs in their car so that they can type-in messages to other drivers, I really can't see how on earth anybody would see the message in time to act upon it, let alone the risks involved of reading one whilst driving, and in any case there are systems already in operation to warn drivers more accurately of troubles ahead which don't involve any action by the driver in order to receive these messages.
With regards to the other aspect when CB radio was used by all-comers as a means of chatting to strangers then I suppose Q&A does look a bit similar although Q&A can sometimes degenerate into a slanging match when all the characters of limited intelligence come on line and take up space which could be used more profitably (and I don't mean this in a monetary fashion) with REAL Q&As. Personally I've had a lot of help from people who have taken the trouble to answer my questions sensibly (and therefore usefully) but there are so many idiots out there that sooner or later it'll come to grief, just like CB radio has!
Phew! - I feel better now!!!

Ya I truly have a remark, I take offense to the CB radio remark. To be straightforward you merely bashed truck drivers and maximum probably did no longer even comprehend it. i'm a truck driving force and at an identical time as i will't say the radio is one hundred% organic and you will hear rubbish in specific spots, for the main section the radio is used to chat dangers inclusive of highway blocks, wrecks, climate comments, and greater substantial undergo (cop) comments. maximum individuals are merely attempting to previous the time speaking to one yet another at an identical time as we are attempting to get from element A to B. maximum individuals accessible are solid ol' adult males/female merely attempting to make a residing and make a distinction for you all to have nutrition, drugs, alcohol, scientific products, gasoline, clothing, etc. So, at an identical time as agree that i'm getting annoyed merely such as you at each and all of the "making relaxing of " merely through fashion of question, do no longer "bash" truck drivers for a reference on your element.
