Out of all the cars you see in your neighborhood (if any) that are souped up (loud and big exhausts, huge rear spoilers, paint work, huge rims) how many do you think are legitimately fast (20+ more horsepower than stock) and how many are just posers?

well, my car has the rims, not huge, just 18" and its got the big exhaust, ONLY loud when I get on it. I have a rear spoiler, but its stock. And i've put in other things as well. And its way more than 20+ stock. Im the only car in the neighborhood that has a souped up car though, except for my neighbor across the street. But i've beaten his car before, so its not big whoop.
Many are posers though. All show and no go! All dressed up and nowhere to go. Unfortunately, loud doesn't mean fast. Mine is quiet and then it just gets louder towards 5000rpm. I would think that maybe 2 out of 10 are actually "fast".

basically your asking how many ricers are out there. Thats the real definiton of a ricer (NOT FORIEGN CARS) I could have a 454 if i put a nos sticker in the window and i dont have nos im officaly a ricer. people just mix the term up becuase after fast and the furious came out, aftermarket sticker sales went through the roof while aftermarket part sales only got to the ceiling. Now if i paint my car and throw some rims and a FUCTIONAL spoiler on it that dosnt make me a ricer, just a "blinger", my car looks nice but im not making any false claims for speed, power or handleing. SPOILERS ON FWD CARS=SUPER RICER UNLESS the spoiler came with the car or it was designed for fwd cars. Why do you need rear downforce when your tractions needed up front at the drive wheels?? that actually takes traction OFF the front wheels because the pressure on the rear of the car makes the front rise. So basically you spent a couple hunderd $'s on a part that is supposed to make your car handle better when all it does is take away traction from your drive wheels and create drag !!?!?????!!!!!

None are fast. None. They are all rice. Little rice burners. I don't see how can a 5 inch muffler tip make your 90 hp CRX faster, when it is connected directly to the stock 1 1/4 tail pipe.

1) 20" rims do not add power
2) You do not need a Boeing 747 wing attached to your trunk if it is a FWD car. Even if it is RWD a modest spoiler would do.
3) Stickers do not add power
4) Do not try to speed shift the automatic transmission (2, 1, D) in your mom's Neon. She will not be impressed when she needs a new valve body in her transmission.
5) V-TEC does not stand for POWER.

The mufflers are the key. The cars that sound loud out of the mufflers are usually posers. To be sure you would have to see what kind of kit is on the engine.

Yeah there are a lot of posers... but some just like they're car to be different... and some just run out of money haha.

I have a ute, its a V8, its cammed, chipped, 3inch exhaust straight back.... it goes pretty good!

mostly just posers i'd say, i think anything with 4 cylinders or less should not be "souped up", so dumb, i hate those stupid huge wings and fart mufflers....

not a damned one.

They're all posers who buy their mufflers at car stereo shops, and their car stereos at Auto Zone.
