According to Forbes, as of 2005, the richest city in the USA is San Jose, CA. Click on the link to the left that says, "See our list of the ten richest cities in the U.S."

Wealthiest is defined as the highest *median income.* San Jose is in the heart of Silicon Valley where high-tech jobs abound. It's no wonder the median income is higher than anywhere else in the country!

Here are the other finalists in the top 10 list:

2. Anchorage, AK
3. San Francisco, CA
4. Virginia Beach, VA
5. San Diego, CA
6. Anaheim, CA
7. Raleigh, NC
8. Seattle, WA
9. Washington, DC
10. Honolulu, HI
