I guess it's more of people were afraid to and it's become more known to the public and more accepted so people are doing it and also have already been gay and more of "coming out of the closet".

It's the thumping subwoofers phenomenon. Anyone driving in their car playing non-sensical bass beats is really trying to "come out" and troll for other gays.
This has given them a good way to find other gays.
You know all the creators of this music are gay also.

"Turning gay"? Did you really just say that? Most people don't just TURN anything like that. Did you just TURN heterosexual? No, you are just that way, right? Yeah, same for them. Just because they aren't out of the closet and the media isn't reporting them as being gay doesn't mean that when they do, they magically turned gay then.
