There could be many reasons why you are itching in your vaginal area. I would suggest trying it as a Yeast infection and if within a few days things aren't better, then I would go to the Doc. It probably isn't anything serious, however it's better safe then sorry.

The shaving comment is a good one above. That is true, if you have recently shaved down there then that could cause the itching, also women you shave everything off, or more prone to infections. So please take care of youself.

best of luck and I hope you are feeling better soon. I suffer from serve yeast infections so my heart goes out to you.....

I would also recommend Vagisil for over-the-counter relief, it may not make the itching go away 100% but it definitely helps.

Many people here have mentioned STDs or a yeast infection as possible causes, but it may have been antibiotics. Have you taken antibiotics (like for a cold or flu) for anything recently? They kill all of the bacteria (including the good kind) in your body and that can make you itch like crazy. If that's the case, the itching will go away soon after the medicine leaves your system, and you'll know that it was just a side effect from the medicine and won't need to see a doctor. However, if it's not this, it may be something more serious where a gynocologist is needed. Good luck!

You should be more concerned with what the problem is. If there's white discharge that is sorta clumpy it could just be a yeast infection. Monistat with the "overnight egg" works the best. Also PLAIN yogurt can be put on the outside of your vagina, and inside your vagina only PLAIN yogurt no coloring and no flavor. Its very healthy and restores the "good" bacteria while fighting off the bad bacteria that causes the itching & irritation. If its not a yeast infection then these remedies wont work to cure but the cold plain yogurt will help with the itching regarless of what is causing it. You should go and make a doctors appointment if you are sexually active it could be something like a STI or a STD. They can cause infertility if not treated.

Hi, don't worry, you will be ok with cream treatment or natural remedies
The most commonly used yeast infection treatments are vaginal suppositories and creams that contain the active ingredient miconazole (Monistat) or something similar.
you can treat by home remedies such as:
Yogurt
Lactobacillus acidophilus, a “friendly” strain of bacteria present in yogurt, can control the growth of infection in the body. For treating a yeast infection, only use plain, unsweetened yogurt.

You must go to your doc! Itching could mean you have crabs, herpes, and a ton of other things that docs go to school for years to study. Don't listen to people on this site. Some people aren't even as old as the number of years the docs go to school to learn to treat you. Your female parts are very important and you must see your doc! These sites will let you see why only a doctor can diagnose you:

Could be a yeast infection. You can get meds over-the-counter, but you really need to see a gynecologist to be sure.
