No, USC's lack of ability to stop Vincent Paul Young, Jr. in the 4th quarter cost them the game.
Reggie Bush not showing up for more than one play cost them the game.
LenDale White running his butt off for 3.8 Quarters, but not making the final yards when they needed it most cost them the game.
Not to mention the month long USC Love fest that ESPN propagated, in part cost USC the game. Texas was handed extra motivation on a silver platter, as if playing for the National Championship wasn't motivation enough.
Go cry on your 2004 National Championship trophy and I'll continue celebrating the Longhorns' 2005 National Championship.

Hey first answer, it's not TU it's UT, University of Texas. Just thought I would share that with you.
But no the calls didn't lose the game for USC. Reggie Bush decides to try and lateral the ball to a teammate and turned it over, USC went for it on fourth down at the end of the game from the 50, and they couldn't stop Vince Young.
Now I'm not saying that there weren't bad calls, like when Vince got tackled and they clearly showed his knee hitting the ground and he threw the ball after for a TD. So yes there were some bad calls on both sides but that's not what lost USC the game.

You want some cheese with that whine?? Puhhhhlease. Texas got some bad calls too you know.
For example, Matt Leinart threw a pass. It was picked off in the air. The Texas player came down with it. And after he hit the ground the ball popped up and hit the ground. In college football that's supposed to be an INT. Once you have possession and any part of you touches the ground you are down by contact. Whatever else happens afterwards is inconsequential.
You see it happen quite often. You even saw it happen in the Rose Bowl. A player catches the ball, he slips, his knee touches the ground, he's down and they spot the ball.
Not to mention that USC had plenty of chances to win the game. But they didn't. They didn't take the opportunities given to them to shut the door on Texas. 4th and 1 anyone? Or how about Reggie Bush's completely lame-brain lateral after a 50 yard run or whatever?

This is why USC lost
1. Bad 4th and 3 call
2. Penalty against USC (good call, dumb play by USC) on 3rd down that would have put Texas on a 4th down near midfield.
3. Vince Young

OOhhh My Gosh, yet another whining Trojan crybaby. Take your licks like a man, tiny, and you'll grow from it. I remember hearing Matt Leinart telling any and all reporters after that game, "We are still the best team in the nation, we just lost tonight, that's all"
What an immature attitude, just like yours is. Can't you spoon-fed beach bois take a simple loss??
It was just a game for cryin' out LOUD, just a dammm game.
Learn to be a good sport, Give the Longhorns their props, because they did beat SC's butts.
OH, and by the way, I am an Oklahoma University grad, yeah, that's right, I'm a Sooner, the team ya'll whupped the year before, 55-19.
GET OVER IT, BOY

I soooooo hate Texas that it hurts my soul. So much talent wasted on a punk ***** like Mack Crybaby Brown. So many blue chippers lost on a really bad coach and one man saved his job. A quarterback otherwise Mack would have been canned.
The refs were so bad it hurt my insides, but I have to say that Pete failed on the one thing that cost him, Vincent Young. You can't coach what he did, but you can coach against it and Pete didn't do it. Mack is a poser, Vincent gave him back his job, and Pete learned that recruiting in Houston should be on his agenda.

If they're 11 defensive guys couldn't stop Vince Young, one guy, from scoring three touchdowns on foot, then they don't deserve to win. A QB rushing for three touchdowns against the so called #1 team in the nation, ha, that's rediculous.
