A Drive may not be near a park, it could be along a beach.

A Drive is usually an arterial street with intersections
A Parkway is a segregated road... like an expressway.
you park in the driveway and drive in the parkway.

Originally a parkway was a road going through a national or state park. The name has just migrated into a broader usage.

I think of a drive as anything from a regular little road to a private house's drive. I think of a Parkway as a divided road with more of a "grand" look to it where new businesses have come.
