If you are white, how much would someone have to pay you to change your race to black?

Let's say you were born black. You came from the hood, where there are no good schools. Your parents don't have a car to take you to extra curricular activities, limiting your chances of getting a scholarship. You can't participate in sports because your parents don't have money for equipment, and other costs. There is no one to help you with your homework because your parents went to an inferior urban high school, and didn't learn much. Your school is dirty and overcrowed, and the teachers have all but given up. You are afraid to go to school because it is so violent there. You are unable to walk down the street without being harrased by cops, who wait for you to slip up in the tinest way, so they can lock you up and throw away the key.

What would you do in order to ensure happiness and success in your life?

Nobody would choose to live in the conditions you've described, regardless of race, if given a choice. The problem is most people who don't live in those conditions don't understand that it's not a choice. Nevertheless, these kinds of questions don't help educate about why it's not always a choice so it only serves for people to spew more hatred and animosity toward people and circumstances they can't (and don't want to) understand.

No. The way I see it is alot of black people do go through hard times. But so do alot of white people...and other races. It's the economy. So I could go through hard times or have it somewhat easy, no matter what race I was. So there would be no point in changing races, if it were possible. I am working class...and no matter what race a person is, if they're working class, they're not going to have it easy. Afterall, the gap between working class and upper class is widening. The working class gets stuck where they are, while the rich get richer.

Also, I was going to answer your question about welfare, but it was resolved already. I personally don't assume all black women are on welfare. There's one black family in my neighborhood, and I swear they have the cleanest, most spotless house out of those I've been in. My whole neighborhood is working class, and the houses aren't top of the line or anything. But if anyone in my neighborhood was on welfare (the white people or the one black family), they still couldn't afford the houses.

Another example, there are black women getting into the Ivy League universities. It would be tough, maybe even impossible if they were on welfare. And I'm sure there are those of other races who have been on welfare.

It would cost me too much, since I'd have to pay for every race that I am and all the races of the world did it to make me. Which is something I take some pride in, just a little really. What I'm really proud of is who I am and no skin could ever hide the real me who is in the package.

My guess is that in order to be successful in life you need to bring out you in such a way that people no longer see whether you're black, brown, red, yellow or white. Since I don't measure success in the amount of money it brings me, I'd rather remain poor and unappreciated if that's what it would be.

well i've been dating black guys ever since i first started having boyfriends. i always knew i wanted 2 have kids for a black man. and now at 25 years old i have 2 kids and their dad is indeed black. i talk black i listen to black music watch black tv shows so i might as well b black. yes u could pay me to change my race. the only thing would be that if i was black and i dated blacks then i wouldn't have the kids that i have right now. so i would have to pass up all the money in the world. i'd rather b broke than not have my kids just as they are right now.

the government provides a program called section 8.... its a program devoted to low income families.... if u qualify for this program then u can get out of that insane neighborhood and instead live in a decent area with a good school system that has after school programs. the idea of doing after school activities should net be thrown away that easily. no matter what school u attend there are businesses out there that are willing to invest money in kids... for them its a tax write off and for u its a scholarship... if u put ur mind to it anything is possible. a dear friend of mine lost both parents when her dad shot her mom to death then killed himself. she went to a private school thanks to contributions and the school's major discount and her grandparents help. shes getting her major in biology at USC and is working in their labs. she comes from no money and guess what ? shes black. people give up really easily thinking life is hard but u know what if u put ur mind to it and say u can change ur life then u will but to change ur race will NOT change ur personality ur luck or even ur ability to achieve anything. dont give up do ur research and have faith and pride in yourself. ur God's child Black White Mexican Chinese... dont matter.

No, I believe you can achieve anything if you refuse to let ignorant obstacles stand in your way. I grew up in a mixed neighborhood and we all got along. I never acted 'black' as many kids these days do and my black friends never had to put on their 'white faces', and we all respected each others cultures. Unfortunately, society still puts tags on people like we're items on a WalMart shelf. Stay true to your culture and persevere, you'll be an amazingly powerful woman one day. PEACE!!!!

Get the best grades i could and get a scholarship..Then get the hell out of that place.. I'm white and i see "hoodlums" wearing better clothes than i do.. If they dress like they are gangsta, then they should expect to be treated as one.. That is like a woman who dresses like a hooker then gets pissed people assume shes a hooker.

''Black/White/Brown/Pink''Does it really matter?

The fact is girl, life is what you make of it.If you start thinking negatively you become a negative person. You start seeing only
the bad side of life.Think positively and set yourself goals, and i promise you life will change for the better.

Let's say you were born ''White''you came from a country like Bosnia where the only thing that matter is staying alive, never mind anything else.Where your family got killed in war.......................etc.etc.Or you came from India,Iran,Iraq,Russia,Lebanon etc.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something positively today. And live life.

sure i'd change my race and face or whatever if i were paid enough. goes without saying that i wouldn't have to change anything else, like my wife, kids, house, history etc. - just my race. no problem.
