No. For the same reason that people will not all sell their cars and get a hybrid, or a drive by wire car.

People love their cars. I mean look around and tell me how many older cars you see on the road. you see plenty. The fact is that people just dont like change, or rapid change i should say. Cars will not be absolete in 30 years because as long as there is gas people will still drive their cars no matter what the price.

In a such given period of time,cars will not be obsolete. Car has been a widely used way of transportion.The models of the recent car today I could say somehow will become a bit obsolete but will still be in active service.Speeding advancement will manufacture a more modern car for sure but still it will be a car.

30 years ago they said cars would be obsolete by 2006. So, I would say the answer is no.

I dont think cars will be obsolete but their means of propulsion will have changed

No because they give a lot of freedom to people to move wherever they want. They will change, of course, materials, design, engines, but we will be driving.

I still remember in the beginning of the PC when they predicted that the paper was going to disappear... and probably now we use more paper than ever.

Well, gasoline powered cars will be.

I'm sure they'll just improve upon technology and convert to electric cars. We've still got a ways to go before everyone's flying around.
