Our family doesn't have a history of allergies but I can't give my 11 month old any type of dairy product, not even the milk based formula. So I have been giving her Isomil(SP?) It's a soy based formula and she seems to like it. I am trying to wean her so this is what she's been drinking. So try the soy stuff and there is also some lactose free formula. I think Similac makes it. Or maybe it's Enfamil. Actually they probably both have it. Good luck!

first, make sure the baby does NOT vomit nor have diarrhea with the formula (normal low fat milk or other)
second, if you are already sure that the baby can not tolerate the first 2-3 first rounds of lactose normal milk formula, then change to a soy milk based one.

Breast milk is best!!! Try using a breast pump for times when mom cannot be present - like work or errands or a chance to let other family members feed & care for baby.

Similac without iron. It is soy-based. Babies with allergies tend to get constipated with iron fortified formulas.
