Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

With love in Christ.

yo, Evil Dude. You are asking the same question that every teenager asks of himself or herself. and the easy answer is NO.
Masturbating is far more accepted than to get your girl pregnant, isn't it? The truth is, in mature men, his sperm is produced constantly, daily and is only stored until released. And without getting nasty or graphic, uh, storage space is limited in that sac. LOL, but it's true. Every young male has 'wet dreams' when he ejaculates while asleep; it's the body's way to expel excess sperm. And only natural. Just like taking "matters in hand".
A condition referred to as "blue balls" can result when too much has backed up.
OK. with all that said, conventional religion will tell us that masturbation is a sin. The sin of Onan (Genesis 38:9) is widely debated today, as to whether Onan was smote by God for contraception, preventing a pregnancy, since the scriptures don't say (sic) "he beat off". Read that, and then decide.

Second part-- No, there has never been any kind of disorder to the genitalia, as a result of normal masturbation.

Later on, go and have a good, healthy jerk. Maybe two.

if you believe its a sin according to your religion then it is, however in reality no its not, it shouldnt hurt your organs unless you are doing really crazy things, dont use a suction tool on the penis as it can dammage blood vessles and you wont get an erection after that, dont cut it , squash it, or any other wise do actual injury, the one problem it can cause is that once you find a girl you want to have sex with, if you have masturbated for a long time and a lot you may not get off with the woman because you have trained your sexual system to like a specific feeling only you can repeat. so i wouldnt engage in great ammounts of masturbation

a) Alright, so this is an all-opinion question (thanks for stating the obvious mr. kirbee ^^;;) I think that masturbating is not a sin in itself. It is natural, and it's just what guys do. Now it does become a sin, when you lust over someone while jacking off. For instance, I'm wackin it and thinking about some hot girl I know, or thinking about fcuking the ish out of jessica alba, or watching pr0n, then it'd be a sin. But if you do it just because you want to, or you like it, and don't lust over anything, i think it's fine. What you are thinking in your mind is the same as doing it, according to the bible and the words of Jesus christ.

b) No. It should not bring about any disorders unless you are doing something really weird. (For example, grabbing your nuts while jacking off or doing something really weird like that). actually it's healthier to jack off than to not. For one, it rids of the excess semen that your body constantly produces~ If you don't get rid of it, then your body must take it out some way because your testicles can only carry so much sperm (wet dreams). And also jacking off right before sex helps you last longer. (Never go in with a full shotgun ;) unless you are trying to get a baby, then you should.)

Good luck and hope it helps.

1) Sin? According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, yes, b/c the use of the sexual organs solely for self-pleasure deviates from God's plan (which is to procreate). The take here, is that God, since he at the beginning was then only one who could create, could have kept this power to himself, but he is generous and trusting to mankind, and shares the gift of procreation. The bliss one feels in sexual union is but a foretaste of the afterlife in store for you if you are good on earth. Kind of a 'promise' from God. This is why the church is also against contraception, because to reject the procreative functioning of the sexual organs, is an act of repudiation on the part of mankind. As if we are saying 'procreation? thanks, but no thanks, God.' Put another way, it is like saying to a friend who has given you a gift, 'can I hjave the cahs value instead?'

But the sin associatied with m* is a sliding scale. The CCC cuts teens some slack b/c they are just getting used to their sexual feelings, and since the church also prohibits sex outside of marriage, well, wattya gonna do? So, say 3 hail-marys, and don't do it again, or at least try not to.

It's a little more serious for adults. Say your husand/wife is away on a business trip, and you miss him/her, u r horny, so you 'help yourself.' Well, CCC says you should know better, and this is quite serious, so the penance is higher. Most priests recommend not only confession and major praying, but also counselling. Seriously!

Now, adults who prefer m* to sexual intercourse (for the purposes of procreation) are in 'big T' with the 'big man,' because not only are they reputiading God's plan for them, they are abusing his gift of sexuality.

Well, that's the offical CCC view, I put it here because you asked about sin.

Personally? Well, to be honest with you, I repeat the commonly held view of most antrhopolgists (include among them shrinks, psychs, sociologists) that m* is a perfectly normal activity for humans. Just remember, sometimes with things you take pleasure in, 'less is more,' or as Jerry Seinfeld puut it you must be 'master of your own domain.'

2) Disorder? The CCC says m* is a sign of spiritual disorder, and this is why they recommend closer relationship with God, so you can get back into his vibe.

As for physical damage, if you use cloth, or even your bare hand w/o lube, you can make the skin callous and lose sensitivity, so 'wetter is better,' use KY or another.

You will come to your own terms with this. As far a sinning goes, I find a good deal of variation among my Christian friends; for example, they have no problems spreading rumours (this a a form of bearing false witness), but they will accuse their neighbour of some other Christian failing (and to do this is to not see the plank in their own eye).

It's all about how comfortable you feel with your own decision making and life choices.

Don't know if all that was helpful, but, there it is anyway.

Masturbating is a sin according to classical Christianity. But it won't cause any disorders to your genitals; in fact, studies have shown that men who masturbate frequently have much better prostate health as they age.

sin is a religious term, and it can be viewed that self-pleasure is well.. selfish, (ignoring what some religion sees as the true purpose of ejaculation - love between two consenting adults) but aside from religion, in practice theres nothing wrong with doing it, it shouldn't affect your sexual organs... other than maybe to put them to some use...
