i made friends with this girl last year in a one year design course thing...now due to some VERY valid reasons i wanna get rid of her but the girl has become awfully clingy calling me everyday trying to tie me up with her by giving expensive presents or insistingly paying for lunch...ive tried to even it out with her many times but the girl just wont stop...im quite sure she has sensed my cold behaviour but she wont give up..how do i shut her out without being rude??

Make new friends. They will occupy your time. Have as little spare time as possible to spare her. Don't take her calls. Let her leave messages, but don't return the calls. Or you could just email her your replies. Keep them short and to the point. Do not accept any gifts from her. Refuse them, send them back, whatever. So many ways to create distance should help. If you get a "new best friend" or a signifcant other, then she'll really have to compete for your time, and if you don't give it to her, she'll eventually give up. Of course you could also have your new best friend or s/o tell her off for you.

I would suggest you just tell her that you think you're really different people with different interests, and it's beginning to feel a bit "forced" when you come together to try to do things together.
Just let her know too that while you appreciate her generosity, it's really made you feel uncomfortable. And you just don't have the time to spend getting together with her as often, you have other interests and other friends.
It is better to be straight though. Sometimes there's a disconnect between what level of friendship one person wants and what the other one wants. I know that I've often been disappointed when someone I thought was a good friend doesn't call for a long time, and I feel like she doesn't care. But I think what's happened is that she wanted more of a "now and then" friend whereas I looked at her as a closer friend. I was wrong, so I realized that and moved on. I still like and respect her, but she couldn't meet MY needs as a friend with what she was offering.

In a polite kind of way tell her you hope she will understand and that you are not trying to hurt her feelings, but that you need some alone time (space). Tell her you value her friendship and appreciate everything she has done, but you are feeling alittle overwhelmed and just don't feel like hanging out every single day. Maybe even tell her that you don't want her to take what you say the wrong way, but you were wanting to be up and up with her that you are feeling alittle smothered and just want to slow down on your get togethers. Should be able to be honest if a real friend.

First you would want to ask yourself why it bothers you to have her as a friend.
Then after you have done that analysis; try to get a couple of other people to tell her to just lay off.
You also cant really throw this person out in the garbage, the person isnt an object.
These circumstances are very difficult to do without actually being rude. you might have to end up giving her an attitude.
Try to consider something might be wrong with her
1. she's obsessed with you
2. she wants something in return
Soo; try approaching her first. talk to her, tell her how you feel; try to find out if she really does want something in return; believe me everything in this world has a price.
(as in,she problably wants something from you)
If this doesnt work; avoid her as much as possible.
If it is really felt that the person wont quit; scream at her, tell her to go away, be rude! it works
It this doesnt work; something is certainly wrong with her, call the police.. this then turns into harrassment, they will take care of it

Why don't u say u've got a new boyfriend n everytime she finds u just say u r about to meet him n that u r late or just keep talking just n only about him all the time if u can't run anymore. Don't give her any space in ur schedule n soon she'd be off ur life.
If nothing works, then u need to get things straight.

Maybe you should tell her you're not interested. Talk to her in private, tell her that you appretiate the advances, but you aren't gay.
Look at it like this, if you call her out, and that was her intention, she'll get the hint. If you are wrong, and she's not gay, she'll think you're super scarey and will leave you alone. A win/win situation!

If your nice about it she'll never leave you alone, been there done that. Honesty is the best policy, or just be mean and hurt her feelings, she'll definitely take the hint then you'll never have to see her again. You'll get over the guilt in a week or two believe me.

For crying out loud. What a terrible life you must have. I cannot imagine wanting to have a friend who seems to be so "giving". I say shoot her. She evidently deserves it.

2 tell her you don't like her and to piss off
3 kill her,or pay a someone to kill her :D
