I can think of 3 reasons:
1. He thinks he is soooo attractive that if he keeps bugging her she will give in.
2. He is a crazy stalker man.
3. He has gotten the idea somehow that either she isn't happy in her relationship and needs an "out" or she really wants to be with him.
I am opting for #2 and your friend should threaten to report him if he keeps it up. She should also learn how to handle a wooden baseball bat...or tell the guy her boyfriend is a cop and carries a large gun...

gee, because some guys just wanted to prove if they have better sex appeal than the present boyfriend. It is some sort of challenge and ego booster for them, if u will get lured

this guy is obviously trying to get with her and may be trying to get her to dump her bf. so if this girl really doesn't like this guy that way she should let him know kindly that she is seeing somebody who she really loves. If he continues to harrass (and yes that would make him harrassing her even if he's jus complimenting her) her she should talk to an adult or a teacher.
