I am planning to join the army, however my boyfriend doesn't know yet. The problem is, I'm not exactly sure how to tell him. He recently got discharged from marine bootcamp for medical reasons, so he just got home not to long ago. I'm afraid he'll feel like I'm leaving him, even though I really want to still date him. How am I supposed to tell him?

Be open and honest with him and just tell him. He'll have to know sooner or later anyway.

If it's meant to be, you'll get through it together and come out stronger in the end. If not, better to know now.

Good luck... and God bless you and thank you.

Better tell him straight and early. It is better that he hears the news from you than to anyone else. Also the reason why you have to tell him early so that he won't tell you that you didn't mind what he will tell you. Let him feel that you are giving him importance. Good luck.

It might help to consider how he will feel when you go and you haven't told him. No sarcasm intended this tough situation will be best handled directly and immediately, "Oh Hey, I joined the Army, pass the peas will ya?"

sit him down and tell him. there is no nice way to tell an injured marine that his girlfriend is joining the armyy. but a word of advice. think twice before shipping yourself off. do you really want to leave him?

Just be honest with him. He shouldn't be mad since he left you for bootcamp.
