most of it is mental people have trouble with math because they expect too. studying harder will only increase your stress. study for a half an hour or so and then go do something else i am not really great at math but i made a 107 in my college algebra class tgis semester. if i felt myself getting frustrated then i would get up walk away go for a walk or something then come back. also we have a math lab at our college that has free tutoring. we took our tests on our own time so i would go to the math lab and study for a half our right before the test. that way if i had a question then i could ask someone to clarify. also we could review our tests and i always did . most people blew it off and were just glad it was over but i went over any questions i missed so i could see where i was messing up. it helped because the material was on the final. Ask for help as soon as you start getting in trouble, its way too hard to get caught back up if you get behind. it is more extra work but its worth it. your never going to get out of math. im 33 and basck in school and it had been almost 18 years since i had anything to do with math classes so if i can do it anyone can. also got 10 pts of extra credit for attendance that helps. just relax about it and know when to take a break. you will sdo wonderful good luck.

Hey, Guess what ! I am really really suck at Math too. Whenever I look, read or find a math problems and I can get it but if someone give me a Hint and I just get what is the next step and I got it!! Sometimes you should find a way to do the math and you find the interest of it. Since I was young never interest of math but when I was in High school and I was a 10th grade student and my favorite teacher always spent her time to teach me the math and make me do my Homeworks (:D) and junior (right now) and I got my favorite teacher be my math teacher and she teach me really well and I understand and I start more interest in it. Guess what I am in the Pre-Calculus (Summer School) and I am going to Calculus , my family member said that is " IMPOSSIBLE ", actually I think so too, but I made it.......cuz I try.....
My Favorite Teacher told me this when I am going to the Pre-Cal, I was so scar cuz I never good at Math, I was thinking to drop! But she told me to promise her never give up, So I promise and she told me this :
" You Never Know How Much You Can Do, Until You Try !"

Get a tutor and try to take the easiest math classes possible so you don't fail them.
I am horrible at math also, although I am okay when I use a calculator and/or excel calculations.
You may get better if you really try, but I never did. I chose a career that does not require complicated math (and it makes lots of money and is not at a fast food restaurant - ignore comments like that). As long as I can balance my checkbook and analyze my investments - that's the only math I really need.
Good Luck, but get that tutor to get you through school.

Read the section in your text book the night before your teacher covers the topic. Try a few of the sample problems in the book. OR, If you know your homework assignment the day for the next day, try one or two of them and bring them to class the next day. When the teacher is covering the material, you might have an easier time understanding what is being explained.

apparently, your punctuation isn't so great either.
as for the math, perhaps some motivational speaking might help. if you can't make the grade when it comes to math, you can take solace in the fact that there are many fast-food restaurants that will need people like you to de-grease the fry-machine.
find a tutor. study harder. stop complaining.

Hi,
The main reason people have difficulty in math is beacuse they've tried to skip over something. Math builds on previous knowledge. For example, you have to learn how to add before you can multiply, and you have to learn how to add, subtract, and multiply before you can learn how to divide. So it's best to go back to the beginning(maybe not as far back as adding and subtracting) and learn it one step at a time. It's totally worth your while, and you might find that you really enjoy it.

I found that if you round the numbers to an even number and then just subtract the difference it makes life so much easier. Thats how I taught both my kids and they did much better in math then before I showed them that.
