Having a sore throat is fine. Do have some mint with you when you travel on plane. Travelling on plane does not affect much on your sore throat. Just have plenty of liquids and some mint with you.

I really appreciate this question. I know somebody for real who got very ill from traveling with a sore throat. I would strongly suggest asking a doctor about this. Some times an infection in the ears is connected to the throat and only your throat hurts.
Get checked out and travel safe.

If you have Strep throat (group A streptococcus = the bacteria that causes Strep throat), and you've had 24 hours of antibiotics, then you're non-contagious. Without 24 hours of antibiotics, it's a judgment call. You'll be in close proximity to people, but if you're careful can probably avoid passing it around. I don't know if airlines have policies on this.

Other forms of sore throat are more common, including those caused by viruses and other bacteria. For these, everyone's on their own - don't cough on people (cough into the front of your elbow), wash your hands well, etc.

I have flown with a sore throat and nothing has happened to me. Of course, this is an anecdote but I think you are alarmed because you have heard there is a danger about flying when you have an infection. However, that is only dangerous when it is in areas like the ear.

yes, of course, there is nothing wrong with traveling on an airplane with a sore throat, that is, unless you have an extremely contagious disease at which point it would be common courtesy not to ride
