Why does Al Gore think he has any authority whatsoever to speak on the matter of global climate change? He takes graphs that show weather changes in the past 50 years and claims it represents a drastic "climate change." "Climate" represents weather patterns that emerge over thousands of years. Trusting Al Gore's climate change analyses has as much credibility as trusting NAMBLA's analyses on child molesting. Get a clue and stop blindly following failure politicians who think they invented the internet.

To the person who asked what other disasters have ocurred in the past.. Go read "Issac's Storm." Have you ever heard of Hurricane Camille? Hurricane Katrina was only a Category 3 when it hit. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that millions of people are relocating to the coasts and building multi-million dollar houses in harm's way. Hurricane Camille would have made Katrina look like a sprinkler if it came through Louisiana at its strength. The Dust Bowl? Do some research before you wasten intelligent people's time with stupid answers

Did you know that the Earth has had CO2 levels much higher than the current levels during a huge percentage of its history? Did you know that that there have been times in Earth's history where there was no ice AT ALL? Yes really.. NONE. There were times in Earth's history when the temperature was so high, humans could not live. And that was BEFORE SUV'S. WOW. Stop blindly following "scientific" movies made by people who try to captivate an audience by showing them random graphs that have no scientific backing.

Well, all I see is that he really jumped on the heat wave that America has experienced in the last few weeks. I'm not a Gore fan at all, but I do appreciate the fact that he is bringing global warming to the attention of people that count. I'm not saying his facts are correct, but at least on one theory he is correct. If the north pole and south pole get much warmer on average per year, there will be a lot of damage done by the ice melting. That could be happening due to the green house effect. We really don't know, but maybe his book and movie will get the gov't's around the world to atleast begin to study it.

No scientific backing? His film was reviewed by a group of climate scientists and found to be accurate. The head-in-the-sand people are the ones taking misleading bits of data, all of which have been accounted for, trying desperately to deny what is almost universally accepted: the earth is warming up, and human activity is a principle cause. Even the scientificy advisory panel selected by Bush came to that conclusion.

In the end, I think you're right. There are better people to learn about global warming from than politicians.

however, i think any person of mediocre intelligence can see that the climate has changed. there hasn't been so much heat in millenia. over here i used to have four seasons, now it jumps from winter to summer. the water has risen. there have been so many natural disasters lately that it's almost scary. point out one period in history where that happened.
