Im asking cuz me and my friend are having our tongue pierced in like 2 weeks and she is makin me go first..the wimp!

I mean i got 2 tattoos...and i gotten my 2 cartilidge pierced...im just nervous after the piercing and the swelling.
i might choke on my tongue.
and no i dont want to look trashy ok...i have always wanted my tongue pierced.

Yes it hurts. Badly. And it bleeds a LOT. Your tongue will also swell up for 1 to 2 weeks and you won't be able to hardly talk and eating anything you have to chew is impossible.
It's an open wound in your mouth. Your mouth has more bacteria than any other place in or on your entire body. Infection is likely.
Also, having a tongue stud in your mouth causes you to subconciously play with it constantly. This will eventually chip or crack your teeth.
My front teeth are chipped away from where I used to play with it without even realizing it.
Then, it came loose during the night and I swallowed the stud and the rod in my sleep.
Furthermore, if the piercer doesn't do it in the *exact* correct place, he could sever a nerve which controls movement to your face.
It's too risky and it's not worth it.
You'll only end up regretting it later on, so why bother?

I agree with Art the Wise. Why get your tongue
pierced. If you think it looks sexy- it doesn't.
Sexy comes from within. If you are confident
in your sexuality you don't need piercing and all
that nonsense. You need confidence. That's the
sexiest thing of all and you can't get that at some
skanky tattoo/piercing parlor.
Buy yourself some lingerie- you'll know it's there
and will feel sexy. For heaven's sake- don't buy
a thong though and let it peek over your pants- Skanky.
Sexy is in your mind. And that doesn't hurt at all.

she can look sleazy. You don't have to follow.
Watch the movie Rat Race- there's a guy in
it who just got his tongue pierced. So not sexy.

Yes, of course it hurts. They shove a piece of steel through your tongue! So what do you think? *LOL* Anyone who says "no" is most likely lying.
However, the AMOUNT and TYPE of pain will vary from person to person. For example, when I got my tongue pierced I went out like a light. But I thought the healing process was easy; I was eating normal food 2 days later. My wife, on the other hand, didn't even blink when they pierced her tongue...but she was eating jello and oatmeal for a week. So it depends on the person...

Not as much as you would think. I took my best friend to get her tongue pierced (he was a free hand artist, which means that he doesn't use any tools) and as she thought she was waiting she asked (w/ her tongue being held) "are you going to do it already" and he laughed, b/c he had already done it, lol.
-Make sure the place you go to is sanitary/very clean, its worth a few more bucks to go to a clean place.
-The trick is after you get it pierced. I would reccomend going to eat a big meal before, b/c afterwards it is going to be hard to eat (but brush your teeth afterwards, lol).
-Also, keep your head elevated while you sleep w/ at least two pillows, to help keep the swelling of your tounge down, you will also apprieciate ice cream and other cold treats.
-when you do need to eat, try ripping up w/e it is and sticking it into the back of your mouth and chewing, to avoid getting it into your piercing, goodluck!

no it doesn't hurt. Actually when I had mine done it was soo quick all I felt was the coldness of the needle. Then that was it! I can't wait to get my tongue pierced a second time. I'm getting the tip of my tongue pierced.

Having your tongue pierced will not hurt me at all. I guarantee it!
In fact while your at it get some other body parts pierced - again I will feel no pain whatsoever.

im sure it hurts like a biatch but i dont take pain well so i doubt ill ever get mine done. And that guy that answered this question about getting it pierced looked trashy, i dont think so at all. I think they look cool as hell

It didn't hurt me. I didn't even feel the needle go through my tongue. It was a little sore after wards and swollen, just be sure to follow the instruction that the piercer gives you.

It hurts, but it's also like a "rush". It'll swell for about the first week, ice helps. But it doesn't stay sore as long as belly buttons or nipples.

I would say that the only part that hurts is when they use the clamp to pull on your tongue.
