Wars will never end. The whole point of war is to continue.
The weapon manufacturers and industries of the world make their money from war.

Iraq is just one example. You should take a look at the amount of money LOCKHEED MARTIN (America's largest defense contractor) has made from Iraq.
Take a look at how much money the multinational OIL COMPANIES are making from the "war on terror".

I'm sorry to dissapoint you but America really does have a Military Industrial Complex and it requires war to be perpetual in order to maintain the status quo.

Also keep in mind the terminologies at use. America is not at war with Iraq right now. America is at war with TERRORISM which basically gives W Bush the ability to send troops any and everywhere he feels like sending them due to the War Powers Act of 1973 which gives the Executive and Legislative branch's certain war powers and their ability to declare war.

...."the president is Commander in Chief (Article II, Section 2). It is generally agreed that the Commander in Chief role gives the president power to repel attacks against the United States and makes him responsible for leading the armed forces."...

The reason why you see American soldiers dying in Iraq is because of an INSURGENCY - an armed uprising, revolt, or insurrection against an established civil or political authority.

Basically Bush was so foolish that instead of heeding the warnings of General Shinseki when he stated America needed 400,000 troops to invade, Bush went in with enough troops to remove Saddam but nowhere near enough to police IRaq as it fell into Chaos.

The Iraq war is allready over. The war on terrorism however hasn't even really gotten started yet. We still have IRAN, NORTH KOREA and SYRIA to deal with.

As you can see, it is a great time to be a weapon manufacturer, defense contractor or Oil Executive.
