You can get an eye exam for about $79. I strongly recommend getting disposable soft lenses (ask your optomotrist). I have had gas permeable lenses and soft lenses and the soft lenses are MUCH better!! Give yourself a little time to get used to the strange feeling of the lenses. It takes a week or so to get used to them. You may feel really irritated with them the first couple of days. Be patient!

Once you have a prescription for contacts, you can order them from www.contacts.com and a 6 month supply costs about $65 or so. You will also need to get some cleanser and a lens case (another $15 or so).

Save your receipts! These are tax deductible expenses!!

Well, eye exam is the same with the one in buying glasses. But the price of te lenses depend on your country & also the type of the lenses you wan to buy. There are two types: soft - hard. Soft ones are more common & comfortable. They cost something around $30. But you'll have to keep them in a solution, it's not that expensive, only 7, 8 dollar.
By the way there are some other types that are called seasonal lenses; you buy them, you wear them for a certain period(without having to remove them at night or in the bathroom) & then you discard them & get a new pair. This period veries; there are lenses for 1 month, 2 months, 6 months, etc. But I think soft ones are the best & you can get along with removing them every night, it's not that hard. I use them & I'm happy with them ( but some times your eye may feel irritated, ofcourse because some external thing is in your eye).

Depends on what kind of contacts you would need. (They have different kinds for astigmatism, etc...) As a guideline, I went to Costco and had an eye exam for 50.00 and bought 2 boxes (6 lenses each, so 6 pairs) for 35.00. So less than 100.00 and my prescription is good for a year.

Check around, sometimes different places offer "back-to-school" specials and such as well. I have a hard time finding eye doctors I like, so stop in the office in person and make your appointment if possible, or get a recommendation from friends, etc.

Hope this helps... good luck!

Four years ago I purchased just coloured lensess for about $170.00. If I needed them for correction of eye sight it would me more $$$. A lot of places sell them for less than $50.00 (such as gag stores...) but these could harm your eyes and cause infections. (trust me I know) Go to an ophthalmologist tell them what you want, they will measure your eye and do an eye exam and then they will fit you with contact lenses and will show you how to put them on, off, clean them and take general care of them. Contact lenses are to only last 1 to 2 years. After that, small scratches on the lense can cause bacteria or dirt to get in and that can cause major havoc on your own eyes.

Doctors Value Vision is having a special where you can get the exam and everything for $99. I am not sure if you have them in your area, but that is a great price. Usually it is around $150-200 depending on where you go. Buying just the boxes of contacts can cost you any where from $15-50 a box.

Exam would be about $15 more than a regular exam - cause they do a couple extra things during a test if you want contacts.

I would say about $85 for a 6 month supply. So about $110 for exam and $85 for 6 months. Give or take about $25.

It depends on your eyes--if you have a stigmatizim it will cost more for your eye exam and contact fit as well as more for your contacts.Usual eye exam is from 60---90 bucks contacts can run from 29 a month to 200 like i said depends on your eyes. also you will have to have an eye exam every year to get new lenes. After 1 year they wont fill your perscription untill you get a new exam.

The first time costs the most, with the doctor's exam and everything, but from now on every time you need a replacement, you can get it by Walmart for very cheap.
