This week i'm planning on visiting the local clothing and shoe stores, and I really never pay attention to fashion of any kind. And I was just wondering what's a good look for an 18 year old (since, i am 18). Anyway, I'm 6'2'' 150 lbs, skinny. I have size 13 shoes, just to help narrow down sizes (incase that matters). I really have no idea how to shop or what any good stores are. So if anyone out here on these vast internets can help, i'd definitely appreciate it.

Thanks people,

Aaron

Well you should consider your lifestyle as well as your body type when creating your personal style. You're 18...are you planning on going to college? Thinking about doing an internship? Job interviews? If that's the case, you are definately going to need a good pair of cotton twill pants (NO PLEATS!) look for pants with a flat front. A nice button down shirt with long sleeves and a funky tie (though no cartoon characters please) is a good start. Remember if you're wearing a black belt, you need black shoes. Brown for brown. You are tall and skinny, so ask around or try www.citysearch.com to find a good tailor. Commerical sizes aren't going to fit you my friend. Tailoring is worth the price. I tailor even my jeans. It's all about looking your best. Jeans are a must...for you I would suggest a basic jean, no frills. A true blue would be a good color. DO NOT GO BAGGY!!! You're skinny you say, baggy jeans will make you look like a child. You want jeans that make your butt look great. Women like to look at young mens butts my friend, don't hide it in frumpy bags in a poor attempt to look "ghetto." Please don't let your underwear show, that is so over. Polo shirts are kind of overdone. Look for crew neck shirts in great colors and fabrics. Naturals fabrics are your friend, stear clear from man-made polyester as much as possible. Other than that try www.casualpower.com. Great tips on building a killer wardrobe. Great clothes do not have to cost a lot of money, talioring a 5 dollar shirt for 20 bucks is worth it if it becomes a key piece of your wardrobe.

Last piece of advice...if you don't love it, don't buy it.

A classic look would be dockers and polo shirts s/s.
A few t-shirts that have a logo or design that you like
Nikes, topsider deck shoes, jeans (not too ripped &
wrecked) Nautica, levis, Ralph Lauren, Hanes, ...

You can buy clothes off e-bay for cheap. Buy classics.
Things that reflect your personality & music tastes.

Go to The Gap, Macy's, Abercrombie & Fitch and ask
the sales people what the'd recommend. They'd hook you
up with a nice, stylin' look. Do the same for your hair- get
a good stylist and use their products.

Good luck.

anything that makes you feel confident. If you feel it, you will exude it, so as long as your belt matches your shoes and never get a tie that has flags on it!!!
