I want to change the name that shows when i instant messenge people on my yahoo instant messenger and I need help.

Please follow this path. click on messenger> my contact details> make changes in ur nickname box> keep other boxes empty> save and close. It will solve ur problem.
If u r having yahoo 360 also. Then u will hv to do the following also. Follow this path. Open ur messenger window> contacts> my profile> click on ur ID> edit>it will take u to ur 360 page> click settings> it will take u to basic info> make changes in Name and Nick Name as u need> make changes in Yahoo Identity display> save.

In messenger, pull down the messenger pull down. Find preferences - go to appearance and at the bottom you can put your name or your yahoo id.

Click on messenger on top of your buddy list,then on my contact details and change your nickname

You can change your user name and nick at Home (server) (If Yahoo is your server)or you can open your messaging program and change it under Options.
