The other day I noticed a lump in my left leg near my bikini line. You can't see it... it's just there. It's about the size of a marble. You can feel it if you push down... and it kind of hurts sometimes. Does anybody know what this might be? I've heard it COULD be some type of cancer so I'm beginning to get a little worried.

Forgot to mention... most likely it's not an STD... unless one of my parents had an STD... or if you can get an STD by like shaking hands or something because i'm a virgin.

Some suggested a pimple and all that. It's really hard to explain. You cannot tell it's even there just by looking. You have to touch it. It's not swollen or anything. It's like someone just put a pea or something under my skin and I can feel it but I can't tell it's there by looking. It's not red or puffy or purple or anything at all. When I touch it it kind of rolls around.

Not clear on where you are talking about - you said your left leg but near bikini line so I'm not sure. But if it's in the crease of your leg it could be a swollen inguinal lymph node. That could indicate an infection in that area. Could be something as simple as a cut you got while trimming your bikini area, an ingrown hair, or an STD. If it's tender and moves around that is a good sign. Hard, painless and fixed lumps are more indicative of infection. Make an appt with your doctor!

I do not know the the female body as well as I would like to,
(not being a wise guy)but if that lump were in the same place on me
The first thing that comes to mind is Lymph node.
On a man,and possibly a woman,lymph nodes,(or lymph glands)
are laid out in locations such as ,the neck under and behind the
jaw,under the arm(arm pit),inner elbow,groin,inner knee,etc.
My guess is that you have an infection that has set off the
Lymph gland warning system.
The system creates swelling and soreness at these key locations when an infection is present.
For example:abscessed tooth,gland in neck signals,splinter in
finger,inner elbow,severe infection in hand,first inner elbow,then
armpit,ect.
Look up the lymph system and compare my info.
I can't be off by much,I believe the lymph system is the same for
men and women.

Sometimes I get those too I was told my my Dr. its just pituatory glands and they are clogged from heat and it makes them appear everyonce in a while my dr. said that to make sure that everytime I use the restroom to make sure that I use sanitary wet ones to keep cool and moist this is just a suggestion for you but if it doesnt go away within 2 or 3 days you should consult your physician because it could be more serious. :)

i have the same thing. i went to my doctor last year and had him check them out (i have about 3 of them). like other people have been saying, mine are just enlarged lymph noded. he said that since they werent painful, that i shouldt worry about it. im thinking about going for a second opinion though, as should you. see if you can have a test called a biopsy performed. if your dont have medical insurance, there are free clinics all over. they are FREE and CONFIDENTAIL...good luck!

It may be what they call a fibroid cyst, which most of the time are harmless. But you are young and if I were you better safe than sorry. Always think positive.

its an ingrown hair or more likely a pimple it might turn purple.I think the only way to take it away is if the doc.cuts it out.
