55-gallon with 2 silver dollar tetras, 3 fancy-tailed guppies (and 4 guppy fry), 3 zebra danios, 3 African dwarf frogs, 7 neon tetras, 4 cory catfish, and 1 male betta. (And one ghost shrimp - started off with four, then I accidentally killed one, and two of them have since disappeared, not sure if the betta or the frogs are eating them.)
One 10-gallon quarantine/breeder tank - currently empty (was holding the guppy fry) and waiting for the next drop of guppies.
One 20-gallon tank, holding a just-rescued-from-Walmart-tonight male betta.
And one 35-long, 35-hex, and another 55-gallon waiting patiently for us to fill them with fish once we find a house instead of this closet of an apartment.

All I know is that I have a 30 gallon tank with just one goldfish. That goldfish has been alive for at least 15 years, so long I've lost count. He is certainly part of the family. And what a great pet! A little dribble of fish food and some subgravel filters, and he's just fine. By the way, do you know how to tell if a goldfish is happy? If its nose is pointed down exploring the gravel and its tail is pointed up towards the surface. You sound like you have tropical fish (never heard of them). Still, the nose down, tail up parameter holds true, with plenty of gallons of water.

At the moment I have an 80l tank in the process of being redecorated. I have some corydoras, 8 neon tetras and hopefully some nice guppies on Monday. I recently removed all the live plants and am going with plastic for now. And recently bought a lovely piece of wood as a centrepiece.

I have an albino Oscar in a 30gal...hopefully will move up to bigger when needed and can afford it...and a Chocolate (cichlid) in another 30. They can't be together because she (chocolate) is a fighter, will even jump to try to bite you if your hand is over the open tank too long!

i designed and set one up for my bosses afew year ago that was 3ft high-6ft lenght and 4ft in width so the 5 terrapins could escape the 4ft tank they kept them in before i worked there. was build onto a mahogany cabinet and had a gravel platform so they could get out of the water and sun bath. in 6 month they nearly doubled in size and was all ways trying to mate with each other. every day all the office staff would visit them before they started work.was well proud of it.
