Vedas are the oldest Book on Earth.
The fundamental of the Vedas is this that it was not written or spoken. The knowledge by the power of God was originated about 1,960,853,000 years ago.
Vedas have not written by anybody please but emanated direct from God. The knowledge of Vedas was by heart. However about 5300 years ago i.e., during the time of Mahabharat war, Vyas Muni who also had knowledge of the four Vedas by heart traditionally, he wrote first time on Bhoj patra and then printed in 18th century. Now explanation of four Vedas in Hindi by late Swami Dayanand Saraswati is available in India.

I think Robb got the right answer.
But for the rest:
Gilgamesh ruled circa 2650 BC, so probably Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest written book
Vedas - 2500-500 BC
Torah must be older than Bible - 1280 BC (Old testament IS Torah, but New Testament had to be written in years BC, logically)
Sorry, but Beowulf was written down between 700AD and 1000 AD

The world's oldest book in the history of mankind written in Etruscan, the language that is now lost, can be seen in Bulgaria's National Museum of History in Sofia. The rarity consists of 6 pages made of 24-carat gold and fastened together; the pages are covered with text and carry images of a horseman, a mermaid, a lyre and warriors.
The small book which age is over 2.5 thousand years was accidentally discovered 60 years ago in an old tomb with frescoes. The tomb was discovered in the Valley of Bulgarian Struma River during road construction works.
A Bulgarian who lives in Macedonia presented the museum with the artifact on condition of anonymity. The benefactor discovered the book himself. As is known, the man is 87 years old now.
The authenticity of the book was confirmed by two independent experts in Sofia and London, Director of the Museum Bozhidar Dimitrov says. As is considered, the 6 gold pages fastened together are unique; only single plates with texts in Etruscan have been discovered until recently.

I believe the bible is the oldest book.. Now the bible we have now is nothing like the original. Through all the translations and stuff. Things have ben omitted and rewritten. But, I remember reading about a guy who learned like 60 different languages just to read the bible in its original form. I don't know where or what I red it from. It was a long time ago I was still in high school when I found that out.

I think the Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest known piece of literature. I'm not sure what the oldest actual book is, though.

Interestingly there was a book found on a millstone dating from around 3000 BC called the Shabaka Stone translated around 700BC - but evidence shows that it had come from a much earlier time. Thus again not the original but as most references to older documents this is pretty old.

Well, before moveable type, monks copied books. I don't know what they copied, but probably the Bible and other religious things. Then Guttenberg came along with his printing idea and he made it possible for the masses to have books, so everyone could read and learn. There are a few copies of the Guttenberg Bible -- one in the Library of Congress. It is really beautiful. It's more like art than a book.

''I Ching'' This was not originally a book, but developed into one over time. No one is quite sure who wrote it. Perhaps it was written by a number of people over a period of time. Much of it was related to the origination of the Chinese script, which was used to perform divination. There is a modern translation into English which you can use very easily to define where abouts in your karmic cycle you are and what might or might not happen to you next.
