Emo means something different to everyone. however, in very few situations does it mean 'whiney kids who overexaggerate their emotions'! Many Emo kids have had a rough past, or are going through rough times, and find cutting as a release. to turn emotional pain into physical pain, which they can deal with. many Emo poeple find ways to express themselves through music. Hawthorne Heights, Armor for Sleep, The Academy Is...=Great bands with great lyrics. Emo is not a trend. Its life.

Emo is short for emotional. Emo kids are into bands like The Used and Dashboard Confessional and Hawthorn Heights cause they are kinda sad and depressing songs at times. Some can be cutters, and some always say, "No one understands me", so they are Emo cause the are depressed people basicly.

It's short for "emotional." It's a music genre. A lot of those relate the lyrics in emo songs to their lives and take it seriously, it's like a way of life for them.

"Emo" kids are suburbanite children who listen to punk-goth music that speaks of how terrible everything is. They are characterized by dark hair, dressing in a very asexual fasion, and often wrist-slitting and whining about how horrible life is. Not to be confused with the new Alternative-Punker kids, also known as "Scene", who are usually quite upbeat, mostly because of the ridiculous number of concerts they attend.

Emo is from the word emotional. Don't bother yourself by worrying about it.
This, too, shall pass.
