Yep, my sister sadly. She is the most irritating person you would ever have the bad luck to meet.

Have you ever NOT had someone in your life who was an absolute thorn in your side?

Oh yes! There are certain personailities who go looking for certain kind of people. The guy who is giving and easily accepts others faults may find himself burdened by firends who have lots of faults and need constant ego building. A buddy of mine jumped into my life with both feet a few years ago and dominated my daily existence. He was fun guy at a time when I needed to get out and see a new side of the world (long marriage had just ended). Yet he was way too much. I finally learned to draw boundary lines. I wouldn't take his hourly calls at work and I stopped answering his emails that he sent all day long. We are still friends but he doesn't get all of my time and attention the way he did for a while.
The funny part is that he described himself as a predator. He knew that he was doing this to me and admitted that he badly needed someone like me in his life. My positive energy and love of life were like oxygen to him. Without it, he said, he would be depressed and looking for another person like me to invade. He is doing much better these days and accepts the boundary lines I've drawn. But he'd move back in to my world and take over if I didn't maintain the borders with vigilance. I have used this experience to improve the way I interact with others in my professional world.

Usually it's a family member. At least with friends you kind of have a choice about keeping them in your life... not so easy with family...
