Start with a free yahoo geocities website, it is a good place to practice and learn the basics. Once you know a little more about it, you can upgrade to Sitebuilder, which is the Yahoo software that I use for my own site. If you want to learn HTML, I suggest that you take a class.

there are many hosting sites you can go through for free/cheap. the one i use is www.freewebs.com. Also you can go to www.register.com. You can have your own .com, .net, or .org website. Right now register.com has a special $10/year. Its not very expensive either way. I hope this helps.

meh... try myspace.com if you're just playing around (and not really want anyone to _ever_ come visit it)... otherwise, get a book on HTML, or read some websites about it. Like anything, it can be as hard as you want it to be. Expense is incurred only if you need special things like domain name registration, databases, etc. You can find free hosting out there if you want.

it is not expensive at all, like 5-9 bucks a month depending on the host -develop the html web pages offline with an html editor ,> http://www.interkeys.com/htmleditor...
and then upload them to a webhost> http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts...
