Sprint cellular phones work well under water. However, the handset must be kept dry. Place it in Glad Freezer Bag. Also use a Bluetooth headset, with your head covered to keep it dry. You be pleased and surprised.
The key is keeping both units dry.

it wont, unless it is water resistant.... signals can catch it even under water for quite a depth.

No, they stop working when they get too wet. Then when you take it apart, it dries out and it will usually work again.
