I am going into my freshman year in high school and trying to become a varsity football player. I have also been taking protien shakes after all workouts. Will pill taking effect my health? My goal is to gain muscle and weight. I am around 163 lbs. and 6'0 ft tall. I am looking for strength more than anything.

Thanks

hey man, im going into my sophmore year and i know where ur coming from. i was lookin for some pills or somethin faster than the shakes too. they do make a pill form of the protien shake. but u have to take like 20 of em. and their kinda expensive. so i just switched to a better shake called muscle milk and started liftin more and took some creatine. and it blasted my maxes way up. i started off at about 5'9" as a fish and weighed in at about 185. i benched my weight. now i weigh about 210 lbs. (way more muscle than fat now) and i bench 265. the stuff helps. and fyi, its best to wait a year (untill ur a sophmore) untill u go to var. its a whole different ball game. i was named mvp 3 times in jr. high. but even now some of the varsity guys throw me around like a rag doll. but u do what u think is best.

good luck man hope it helps.

You are a great size to start football...

don't even worry about any enhancements to your size or strength - just keep working out and you will be great!

And yes...taking any performance enhancement will effect your health.

The only thing I would recommend is a multi vitimin.

Keep up the hard work and have an awesome year of football.

Bro, Dont pop pills,And that protien is bad for your liver, trust me I know,I did both.Relying on enhancment drugs are a short time solution,Proper diet and Exercise is all you need,If you want to be a ball player intead of popin pills,be the first one to the gym or the last to leave practice,If your dedicated to play football and have talent then that will be enough.Good Luck.

if your a lineman strength is key how ever DONT TRY TO BE ON VARSITY, you'll end up on either next year or as a junior, and don't take steroids.....unless of course you don't like your balls that much but still, you'll make varsity when your time comes yo, so be patient trust me, Im on varsity and I'm a junior

roids arnt the way to go. and neither is creatine. i doubled my max for benching by doing it repeatedly, not by taking supplements. creatine makes your muscles bigger, it does not make them stronger. trust me i have studied this. your time will come for varsity, i am 5 9 and only 160 and i will start this year, in my junior year. it is worth it to lay off the roids, it takes most always takes skill not muscle.

a pill would be bad for oyur health at your age, not to mention its against the rules to take any supplement of any kind to enhance your game, so DONT DO IT
