Restart PC. and try again. You can right click on its icon and pick eject. If none of this works you can wait for more answers but most CD DVD ROM drives have small holes that you can use a paperclip and use the release button. Its a hole near or on the drive that a tiny piece of metal and fit in. This will probably pop the drive out. But do this after nothing else works.

Try dumping and then reloading the driver software. Also you can go to the location of your CD drive and run a check.
Find the CD driver, right click it's icon and choose properties, open and read all the other tabs on this page. In a lot of IE this can be done from Device Manager in Control Panel.
So for most users the path would be start, my settings, open control panel, and click Device Manager.

Could be a number of things. Take a flashlight and see if anything is jammed in it. If there's not, it could be a mechanical error. That would have to be fixed by a shop. It could have also come unplugged. You could fix that if you know what to look for. Finally, it could just be worn out. If it's many years old, that's probably what it is. That's all I can think of. Hope it helps!!!!!

Try making sure the CD Drive power cord is plugged in... I did that earlier today... If not... than you might have to get a new one...
And not all CD Drives have the small holes they are talking about...
