why does everybody on yahoo answers hate rap besides that crap you hear on the radio or see in the videos its the most thought provoking genre of music With songs like Stan (eminem) papas song (2pac) that biggie and bob marley song i could go on it was the first to REALLY rebel againts society (ALL THAT ROCK N ROLL **** JUST REBELLED AGAINTS PARENTS) AND the rappers that are actually GOOD


lyricists are poets and can put together a rhyme that sometimes would take a half hour to fully sync in so u have a full understanding of what they talk about...

people say you need to be able to play an instrument to have talent WRONG any body can LEARN to play a guitar TALENT IS SOMETHING YOUR BORN WITH

bcuz those people who do play instruments CANT sing and usually just scream at the top of thier lungs about nothing talented people are R&B singers sometimes they have to train thier voice but thier usually born with it and a GOOD rapper (not some mainstream bum) is what im talking about

yeah the new school sucks. i mean come on, 50 cent? the south? *** on they just want to get paid all they talk about is the superficial materiallistic **** hip hop ORIGANILLY tried to avoid. but wen u think pac, public enemy, de la soul ,early nas, even sugar hill gang you get a story that has apoint to it, for the good of the black comunity, not like the overplayed fake g **** that is on today. nwa were g's but they had excellent wordplay. oh props to mos def and lupe fiasco for trying to keep REAL hip hop alive and to public enemy for still bringing out albums almost 2 decades after their first album.

some rappers have taken it to the extreme, with the cars and money and women...and female rappers sell out to the hype that they have to be dressing provocative and skanky just to sell a record...."we rappers is role models we rap we don't think" know that people hate on rap because they speak of nothing but of how much they got, and what someone else wish they had, and of how they almost got shot and different things like that....all rappers don't speak of those things on every single that comes out and those are the ones who aren't in the spotlight. but they are lyricist and they are better than the ones in the spotlight but because of the way of this greedy and temporary pleasured world is, they get all the credit. bring the real back to rap and people won't hate it as much...and yes i listen to and love rap!

As for rappers being poets... obviously, you've never dabbled in 60s and 70s rock.

Regarding instruments. Sure, anyone can learn to play them, but its one thing to "play" and its another thing to play them in an effective manner that illustrates true virtuosity.

Weezer and 311 get missed right here on R&P. As do Mudhoney and the Screaming timber. BQ: a variety of of questions with bands like Linkin Park or Paramore. the comparable is going with Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. yet that's what retains Y/A! alive.

I understand where you are coming from bro.I like rap too I like artist from Easy E in NWA to Paul Wall.Everybody has ther opinion in music but i Gew up listening to alltypes of music but i listen to rap more cause of country talking about heart break and most rockstars don't know what they are talking about in there songs the only real rock bands i like is disturbed,tool and korn. sorry to say that bro.Take it easy

Because people can't look past the violence, foul language, the degrading of women in videos, talk of drugs, cars and jewelry. It may be creative music and fun beats but they don't have to keep putting half naked hoochies in their videos. Mix it up. Watching the same type of videos gets old.
