What could make you so angry that you lose your mind?

Seeing people get hurt who can't possibly defend themselves. Its already going on in my building and my inability to have any positive effect at all on this issue is really starting to make me hateful towards my own neighbors. I mean, we have two people in the building where I live in wheelchairs, and a third, whose cerebral palsy insures that he only has one good arm and one good leg to his name....all of them have been mugged and attacked in the past two months. I wasn't around when this happened or I would have snapped, but I did get to see the aftermath fairly soon afterwards....

And basically, to put this as politely as possible....the people being attacked were all of one color or ethnicity.....and the others *doing* the damn attacking were of another. Which really grates on my last nerve too as I've bent over backwards since the 3rd grade in grade school to NOT be bigoted, racist or hateful, but....this is just getting crazy.

I mean, I *know* my nation is falling apart and sliding right into a ruinous state, but damn, there is no need to declare open season on folks, you know? For *whatever* reason.

Edit/update: it was late at night locally when I typed the above, and I wasn't entirely clear. It isn't the ethnic/color issue that is disturbing me so--even though that is one more factor--but that the people being attacked were physically *unable* to act in their own defense, beyond crying out for help.

I did and do feel much the same way when *kids* get hit by adults, and I have to seriously get myself OUT of the situation if/when that sort of thing happens in public, because while I know for a fact that parents and adults in general *can* be abusive to their kids, it isn't *always* a given, and some folks really *are* just trying to discipline their kids....

Still, having to fight down the *emotional and intuitive* urge to just go ballistic on the so-called adult for smacking around a child, especially out in public, gives me some major stress issues, headache, loss of appetite, you name it, from throttling that anger down.

Because gee whiz, I've only survived being beaten down, neglected and abused by a neglectful disabled mom (not entirely her fault but still bad), and a violent monster of a dad. Scar tissue, you know?

If some one told me, to my face, that they hate gays and the idea of gay marriage was stupid and shouldn't be allowed. There have been some questions on here that have made me come so close to losing my mind. I think if that happened, the person would not be standing when I got done......

My mother in law telling me I work hard for an America (she's not from the US) and most Americans are lazy. I always want to slap her when I hear her down the country and the people she's been living with for over 30 years.

being cheated on!! It happened and i did lose my mind!!
It was new year's eve and i went over to his and his new girlfriend's house and i walked in and wished them a happy new year and hit both of them in the face!! ended up with a few charges on me, but a memorable holiday that year!
