It may be true, love is an amazing feeling. When you feel it, it's like the world is at your feet. However, it is brief and the pain that follows lasts forever. The same amount of joy can also be derived from scoring the winning goal in the world cup! Now that feeling is also brief but there's never any regret. So logically, which one is better? Which one is harder to attain? Definitely the latter. There are many things in life that are equally as rewarding and pleasing as love, and without the negative side effects. There is so much more to life than love, so the answer is no, it's better not to have loved, but to have enjoyed your life regardless.
It would be irrational to love somebody simply because it would only be temporary and have negative repercussions. Despite this, I find myself at odds because I want to experience love. I hate the fact that I want it so much. Since it's irrational I won't allow myself that amenity but in doing so I'm going against instinct. So I guess the question is, do you oppose reasoning and take the quick gain for a hard fall, or do you play it safe and still feel content for the most part?

It`s true, because things happen for a reason, you wouldn`t have known that person, and it makes you grow in a deeper level, to find something better and great later. Sometimes people believe that if they never had anything to deal with that person in the start, they`d feel happier, yet... you haven`t grown or learned anything. So, yes it is better to have loved & lost, because if you haven`t lost anything, you wouldn`t know what you loved from the start.

Yes...it is better to have done something instead of being afraid and not trying. If things do not work out we can always say,
OH WELL, I TRIED . I do not want to spend the rest of my life saying I wish I had done........ Now I can I say I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN.
Anyway, the heart is a muscle, it was meant to stretch and feel like breaking. Exercise your heart by falling in love.

Yes - life is about living. It is not about having all the best experiences. Having experienced true love, even if it is only for a short time, is worth more than never having loved. It's like from the song, "Didn't we almost have it all?"..."the ride with you was worth the fall my friend, loving you makes life worth living."

Definitely better to have loved and lost than never loved. If you have loved you know what it feels like, if you have never, then you are constantly searching trying to find love. If you have had it once then you know that it exists, do not quit and live your life to the fullest, love may find you again.

Is this a question or an answer? Experience no matter good or bad supports growth and hopefully change. Love is one of these things...Its talked about, sung about , written about but until its actually happened to you ....Well there is nothing like it. If you loose it ther will be nothing harder to deal with in your life but it is something worth the risk!!

True at least for the first time. However, a losing streak is critically mortifying to the ego.
