No. I've only ever gone to church when I was viseting my grandparents when I was little. I wasn't raised all that religious. So no, I don't feel guilty.

At first, this might sound bad, but I'm not going to church tomorrow.

Before I dive into this, please allow me to say that I am a Christian and am what many people deem as "saved."

However, my past experience with church has left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. It seems that too many churches today are more about social status and politics than religion and worshiping God, or whoever your Universal Being might be. It has become little more than a competition to see who can drive the nicest car to church and who can dress in the most expensive outfit.

I'm a country boy, and I grew up on a farm in Alabama. I can personally attest to the fact that I feel closer to God while idly walking along in the middle of a pasture. There is so much more peace, satisfaction, and so many more purifying qualities in doing such an act, instead of going to an organized church to see who is wearing the most expensive tie.

I guess I'm just transcendentalist like that.

I got out of the habit of going when I found it impossible to drive anywhere. Now I am afraid to walk into just any church without knowing anybody there. Moreover, I'm very exhausted and church starts very early in the morning.

Possible solutions to this problem:

Churches should advertise on the Internet and let people look at what they are going to see before they go there

Churches should make some services in the afternoon or evening and make them exactly one hour long

Yes, I'm going to church tomorrow. I always have a profound sense of peace afterward, which follows me throughout the week. I also believe it's a sin if you don't go ( unless you have a very good reason), so I feel pretty guilty if I don't go.

Yes I am going to church tomarrow.

I am going for a number of reasons. The people at my church are my family and I like to spend time with them. At church I am able to hear other peoples ideas on different issues and topics that are important to me. At our church I get the great joy of worshiping God with other people. We grow closer to God and grow closer togeather. And the list goes on.

No I do not feal guilty if I do not go to church. I do, however, miss my church when I don't go.

Im going tomorow cuz I want to serve God and being there and paying attention and applying the things that I learn will help me to be a good person. I would feel guilty if I didnt go cuz God has given me soooo much and I'd be a jerk to not give him at least that much time to say thank you.
