If you want too you can dab a little bit of isopropyl alcohol on the umbilical cord stump with a cotton ball every once in a while (even though my doctor told me that this really isn't necessary... and that it's just important to try to keep the area dry). My son is NOT circumcised so I can't help you there.

Alcohol for the umbilical cord and Triple Paste for the circumcision (I found it at CVS or try the internet) They will tell you to use vasoline when you leave the hospital.. The main thing is to keep it moist. You can also use a bacitracin ointment it is a form of antibiotic. My pediatrician told me that triple paste was the best thing that I could have used.

The nurses will definitely show you how to care for these things.
To prepare for beforehand, you will need:
Cotton balls & rubbing alcohol for the cord. Use every few hours on the new baby's cord. Just swab a little on, and soon enough it will dry up and fall off. When that happens, I always used a little neosporin if there was a scab left.
Circumsicion: Vasoline. Put a little dab on at every diaper change. The plastic thing will fall off on its own, when it's been healed.

Clean them with plain water at each diaper change and keep plenty of petroleum jelly on the circumcision until it is healed.

Use a bit of rubbing alcohol on the belly button with a cotton swab or cotton ball. DON'T get it wet or it could get infected.
My kids are uncircumcised so I can't help you on that one, sorry.

Use a Q-tip and alcohol on the belly button and vaseline on the circum. and PLEASE DON'T MIX THEM UP OR IT WILL HHHHUUUURRTTT! You will probably need to keep the bb covered or safe from being rubbed so it will heal right. Best wishes! Contact me if you have more new mama questions!
