Why black?

Why you have to wear black socks when you have suit on? Why not other colors, like nude or white?

I think nude will be the best! Imagine that when men have nude socks on their feet, how sexy they will be!

It's not the "official" standard, but usually black goes well with suits because it doesn't draw much attention the way white, or red socks would.

I think in this case, you could probably get away with any color that's dark and doesn't make your legs/ankles stand out more than the rest of your appearance.

I don't think very many people want to look like they are trying to imitate Michael Jackson these days, so that's probably why the darker socks with darker suits seems to be the trend.

But, if you like white, then go ahead!

it's usually because black matches every other color regarding a suit. most people prefer black socks, because they dont want to have to think about whether their socks match their suit or not. they've got more important things to worry about.

Because if you wear bright coloured socks or none, the discontinuity causes the eye to bring attention and notice to the feet. Same for weird coloured shoes or pants.

When you are doing business, you want people to look at your face, not at your feet.

i had a blue suit on today, and, had i had brown shoes, I would have worn blue socks. Grey socks also work depending on suit and shoe color.
