It's all got to do with testosterone and evolution.
Increased testosterone has been linked to increased aggression, for starters.
The way that evolution plays in is purely Darwinian. Darwin proposed that the most fit, most virile members of a species are the ones that will live to reproductive age and successfully breed. In primates, the female, once pregnant, must wait for the entire term of the pregnancy and then some in order to become able to reproduce again, so inordinate horniness will just make her miserable. The male, on the other hand, doesn't have to wait. The hornier the male primate (and the more times he gets lucky), the more likely he is to pass on his genes to the next generation. So if a very aggressive, very horny male is able to impregnate a dozen females and prevent more docile males from accomplishing that, the aggressive ones will have more offspring. The offspring, having the genes that led to their father's aggression and horniness, are more likely to be aggressive and horny themselves. And so on, and so on, until you have a race of very horny males. Just like human guys.
Please note that I am NOT saying it's OK for guys to run around getting girls pregnant for fun. I mean, good Lord, let's be reasonable here. :)

I think it's just how the person is. Male or Female. There's a lot of girls who are hornier than guys. I know I am. LOL

There are alot of right or wrong answers to this ages old question. For one, it is a genetic thing. Man as a species has always been this way, throughout the animal kingdom. Secondly, it is the hormonal effect. Men have testosterone, a very powerful horomone that drives men to be territorial, horny, hairy, and sometimes emotionless. Just like women have estrogen, men have testosterone.

Completely different set of feelings and emotions.
Same in animals.
Males fight over females.
The strongest wins and the species gets stronger as a whole.

not true all the time, a man explained it to me this way though, that a woman is more appealing than a man, the way she is built, her prettiness, her body is made beautiful....and i would imagine them to be more horny...and maybe cause no one has taught them otherwise, just an after thought.
