I just finished "The Da Vinci Code" - that one was written for a sixth grade reading level. Most American literature is. It depends on what sort of thing you're looking for, whatever you're interested in.
Marguerite Henry is an amazing author. I suppose her books are intended for the younger audience, although they stand up well enough by adult standards, too. She mostly writes about horses, though...

i personally think books for adults are more entertaining... but there are some really awesome teen books floating around.. pick ones that have been given awards and stuff. like "new york times best seller" and what not. things like that should be on the cover.

read house of the scorpion that is a awsom book ..wel at least i liked it..but u can go to the young adult section at yer local bookstore and find some pretty cool books..gd luck..luv ya..bye

im 15 and i love this book called milkweed. its about a boy in the holocaust who is really stupied. he doesnt know who he is and doesnt have any family. he doesnt even know his name! its a great book it got a medal too.
